October 2005 - Lights! Curtain! News!

After a two-year search, God has provided the song writing duo of Tassany to write the score for He Knew My Name, a passion play with a contemporary twist, by Ane Mulligan. Tassany's music brings a modern sound to the old, old story. Musical influences from the 60's and 70's, along with a love for stage, allows Tassany a unique, out-of-the-box approach to composing. Between the fresh writing of Mulligan and the styling of Tassany, He Knew My Name promises to provide a renewed awakening to the life and crucifixion of Christ. Goals for traditional publication are being discussed, along with several other publishing options. Stay tuned for more news on this exciting challenge for Mulligan and Tassany. He Knew My Name
By Ane Mulligan

At a baseball game with their team losing, three buddies decide to go to the Krispy Kreme for coffee and donuts. As the conversation turns to spiritual things, Pete, a committed Christian, tries to witness to his friends. Daryl, doesn’t want to hear it, but Alan is interested. When Pete begins telling them about Jesus, they’re transported back in time. While Jesus is being baptized in the Jordan River, our trio meets Andrew, who invites them to join him on a life-changing journey. But when they return to the Krispy Kreme, having witnessed the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, will Alan and Daryl accept the Truth? Author Ane Mulligan has created a passion play with a twist. Contemporary characters, complete with blue jeans and non-working cell phones, join the disciples as they follow Jesus. Mulligan infuses the dialogue with humor and gives us characters who are real, warts and all.
